Black’s BBQ is a longstanding Texan company serving up traditional Barbecue since 1932. The Black’s family has been actively serving the community for over three generations. They originally made a name for themselves in Lockhart, Texas and now have 4 total locations.

Working for the company for over 3 years,  I've  gained an appreciation for the brand they've maintained for so long. However, they could use an update. The challenge was to keep the same style while introducing more color and energy. This began by researching vintage logos and finding a type I could center the Black’s logo around. The next step was adding a modern font to compliment the vintage one. The idea was to merge the old with the new in a way that reflects Black’s BBQ’s current business approach in the changing BBQ industry.
